OVERVIEW

This project focused on designing a donation-driven landing page for The Front Market, which is a two day event organized by the nonprofit Future Front Texas. The goal was to create a clear and user-friendly landing page that encourages users to donate to the event while also correlating with the brand's existing visual identity. The landing page was made with a specific call-to-action in mind and explored how to translate and extend an existing brand onto the web for a singular purpose. This process included researching the event, auditing the site, understanding brand elements, learning content on a landing page, and designing with an AI software. Edits to the layout were made in the AI editing section using prompts I wrote. After finalizing the layout, I manually replaced the images with real photos from the market. The final results of the landing page provided users with a way to support the community involved in the event and successfully achieved the project's goals of creating a specific call-to-action.

APPROACH

To address the challenges of creating a landing page for the Front Market, I followed a specific structure that aligned with the project's goals. I began by researching Future Front Texas and conducting a site audit to better examine the existing website and its online presence. This helped to understand its visual identity and any pain points that would be useful to know when designing the landing page. Next, I focused on the brand's elements and visual designs. This was completed by creating a context page filled with information that should be included on a landing page. The content included a specific initiative I would be soliciting donations for, identifying my audience, and what content to add to the landing page, such as fast/slow + emotional/logical frameworks. I then created a brand board of the visual elements. This included the logo of the brand, the color scheme, and typography used throughout the website. This helped to create a better understanding of what the website and event were communicating and what elements were needed to create a landing page that could go with the existing website.

Afterwards, I created a wireframe to plan how I wanted the layout to look so that I could eventually add it into an AI prompt. This was to emphasize the call to action and create a user friendly layout involving all important content with an accessible donation page. Once I was finished gathering all the research, I added my designs and content into an AI tool to generate a draft of the landing page, which was peer reviewed. I used the peer critiques when revisiting my prompts and used the same AI tool to generate a brand new landing page with their feedback and some of my own ideas to edit the landing page to create the final version. After all edits were made to the layout, I went back in manually and replaced the AI generated images with real photos of past markets. Throughout this structured process, I created a user-friendly landing page that achieved the project's goals of providing a way for the community to donate to the event while following the Future Front Texas visual branding.

RESULTS

This project successfully achieved the goal of creating a landing page that calls for donations for the Front Market event, organized by Future Front Texas. With this project I was able to learn skills by working with an AI tool to create a design that is user friendly and encourages donations. I was able to refine my skills in research and brand understanding as well. A lesson I learned from this experience was that creating a call-to-action landing page aligning with the brand's identity using AI support can be challenging, since you have to write prompts that go with the vision I have of the design and something the AI will understand. This project provided me with skills for future projects in working in designing landing pages with AI.
